BUSCOPAN ® sugar-coated tablets are used to treat

  • mild to moderate cramps of the gastrointestinal tract

       2. cramp-like abdominal pain in irritable bowel syndrome.

Adults and children aged 6 years and over: 1 – 2 sugar-coated tablets 3 times daily (single dose: 10 – 20 mg, maximum daily dose 60 mg Hyoscine butyl bromide).

Swallow the tablets whole with sufficient liquid

Pain management

Therapeutic Indications:

Symptomatic treatment of spasms of the digestive tract, the biliary tract, urinary tract and the genitals: galkolieken, colic, spastic colon, esophagus spasms, stomach spasms, spasms with diarrhea or gastroenteritis.

Qualitative and quantitative composition: 

Buscopan 10 mg coated tablets: a coated tablet contains 10 mg butylhyoscine bromide.

Buscopan 20 mg / 1 ml solution for injection: 1 ml solution for injection contains 20 mg butylhyoscine bromide.

Pharmaceutical form: 

coated tablets.
Suppositories.
Solution for injection.

Posology and method of administration: 

Adults and children over 6 years. 
coated tablets: 1 – 2 tablets, 3 to 5 times a day, to swallow a little water.
Suppository: 1 to 2 suppositories, 3 to 5 times a day.
Solution for Injection : 1 ampoule sc, im or iv, may be repeated several times a day.
Children younger than 6 years: 1 mg/kg/24 hours.
Buscopan is contraindicated in children younger than 1 years.
In any route in adults and adolescents should not exceed 100 mg/24 hours are given to children and never more than 1.5 mg / kg body weight / 24 hours.

Contraindications:

Special warnings and precautions for use:

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction: 

The anticholinergic effects of some drugs, including tricyclic antidepressants, the antihistamines, quinidine, disopyramide and amantadine, which can enhance and Buscopan reversed.
