Sodium Chloride Intravenous infusion (3% & 5%) w/v is a concentrated solution and is normally diluted before it is used. Sodium Chloride Intravenous infusion (3% & 5%) w/v is added to intravenous solutions (IV) to treat patients with lower than normal salt levels (sodium or chloride ions) in their blood. Sodium Chloride Intravenous infusion (3% & 5%) w/v should be administered with care to very young and elderly patients.
