Sitagliptin /Metformin 50 mg/1,000 mg film-coated tablets
 
What Sitagliptin /metformin is used for:
This medicine contains two different medicines called sitagliptin and metformin.
sitagliptin belongs to a class of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors (dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors)
metformin belongs to a class of medicines called biguanides.
They work together to control blood sugar levels in adult patients with a form of diabetes called ‘type 2 diabetes mellitus’.
This medicine helps to increase the levels of insulin produced after a meal and lowers the amount of sugar made by your body.
Do not use Sitagliptin /metformin:
if you are allergic to sitagliptin or metformin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine 
if you have severely reduced kidney function
if you have uncontrolled diabetes, with e.g. severe hyperglycaemia (high blood glucose), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid weight loss, lactic acidosis or ketoacidosis. 
if you have a severe infection or are dehydrated
if you are going to have an X-ray where you will be injected with a dye. You will need to stop taking at the time of the X-ray and for 2 or more days after as directed by your doctor, depending on how your kidneys are working
if you have recently had a heart attack or have severe circulatory problems, such as ‘shock’ or breathing difficulties
if you have liver problems
if you drink alcohol to excess (either every day or only from time to time)
if you are breastfeeding

لماذا يستخدم سيتاجليبتين / ميتفورمين:  
يحتوي هذا الدواء على دوائين مختلفين يسمى سيتاجليبتين و ميتفورمين.
ينتمي سيتاجليبتين إلى فئة من الأدوية تسمى مثبطات DPP-4 (مثبطات dipeptidyl peptidase-4)
الميتفورمين ينتمي إلى فئة من الأدوية تسمى البايجوانيدات.
إنهم يعملون معًا للتحكم في مستويات السكر في الدم لدى المرضى البالغين المصابين بنوع من مرض السكري يسمى "داء السكري من النوع 2".
يساعد هذا الدواء على زيادة مستويات الأنسولين التي ينتجها الجسم بعد الوجبة ويقلل من كمية السكر التي ينتجها جسمك.
لا تستخدم  سيتاجليبتين / ميتفورمين:
إذا كنت تعاني من حساسية تجاه سيتاجليبتين أو ميتفورمين أو أي من المكونات الأخرى لهذا الدواء
إذا كنت تعاني من قصور شديد في وظائف الكلى
إذا كنت تعاني من مرض السكري غير المنضبط ، على سبيل المثال فرط سكر الدم الشديد (ارتفاع جلوكوز الدم) ، غثيان ، قيء ، إسهال ، فقدان سريع للوزن ، حماض لبني أو حماض كيتوني.
إذا كنت تعاني من عدوى شديدة أو تعاني من الجفاف
إذا كنت ستخضع للأشعة السينية حيث سيتم حقنك بصبغة. ستحتاج إلى التوقف عن تناول الطعام في وقت إجراء الأشعة ولمدة يومين أو أكثر بعد ذلك وفقًا لتوجيهات الطبيب ، اعتمادًا على كيفية عمل كليتيك
إذا كنت قد أصبت مؤخرًا بنوبة قلبية أو لديك مشاكل خطيرة في الدورة الدموية ، مثل "الصدمة" أو صعوبات في التنفس
إذا كان لديك مشاكل في الكبد
إذا كنت تشرب الكحول بكثرة (إما كل يوم أو من حين لآخر فقط)
إذا كنت مرضعة
