CARDURA 4 MG 20 TABLETS
Is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia; high blood pressure and raynaud' syndrome.
This medication is used in urinary outflow obstruction and symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostrate enlargement). Hypertension (high blood pressure).
Side Effects
postural effects, dizziness, vertigo (fainting), asthaenia (physical weakness), odedema (fluid retention in body), nausea, rhinitis (swelling of mucosal membrane of nose), somnolence (sleepiness), palpitation, tachycardia (high heart rate ), anxiety, insomnia (inability to sleep), nervousness, parasthesia (abnormal sensation of skin), hypotension (low blood pressure), cough, dyspnoea (diffculty in breathing), GI upset, anorexia (loss of appetite for food), dry mouth, pruritis (unpleasant sensation of skin), back pain, UTI, flu like symptoms. 
When Not To Use
History of postural hypotension (low blood pressure), and micturition syncope (fainting after urination, chronic UTI or bladder stones, severe liver impairment. Severe oesophagel or GI obstruction. 
Indications: 
This medication is used in urinary outflow obstruction and symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostrate enlargement). Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Pregnancy: 
No definite data regarding pregnancy is available, therefore; be cautious. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Lactation:
This medication is contraindicated in lactating females.

Contraindications: 
History of postural hypotension (low blood pressure), and micturition syncope (fainting after urination, chronic UTI or bladder stones, severe liver impairment. Severe oesophagel or GI obstruction. 

Precautions: 
Hypertension (high blood pressure, monitor BP regurarly, pulmonary edema (excess fluid in the lungs), high output cardiac failure (heart failure), right sided heart failure due to pulmonary embolism (blockage in pulmonary arteries), left ventricular heart failure, liver impairment, cataract surgery (surgery of eye lens), risk of priapism (prolonged erection) seek immediate medical assistance.

Uses
It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), or to improve urination in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate).
Side Effects
Low blood pressure, dizziness, drowsiness, headache or feeling weak or tired.
When not to use
You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to doxazosin or similar medicines such as alfuzosin (Uroxatral), prazosin (Minipress), silodosin (Rapaflo), tamsulosin (Flomax), or terazosin(Hytrin).

Active Substance: Doxazosin Mesylate

Drug Class: Antiadrenergic agents, peripherally acting


Pharmacological effect: Cardura contains doxazosin. It is an alpha-adrenergic blocker. This substance eases the veins and arteries that’s why the blood may flow easier. Cardura also relaxes the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck. It eases the urination.

Usage: Cardura is used in therapy of hypertension. It also treats benign prostatic hyperplasia in men. Cardura decreases the risks of heart attacks, strokes, problems with kidneys, weak stream and problems with urination.

Aftereffect: Cardura may cause different aftereffects. More usual side reactions are: temperate giddiness and tiredness. Call the doctor if you have the following abnormal reactions: painful erection, very durable erection from 4 hours and more, difficulties in breathing, swelling and pain in legs, hands, ankles, fast heartbeat, pain and discomfort in chest, allergic reactions and the feeling of permanent need to urinate.

How to administer (optionally): Take one tablet per day in evening. Swallow it with a glass of water. The first recommended dosage is 2mg. After 1 to 2 week intervals the dosage may be changes from 2 to 4mg and thereafter from 4 to 8mg.
