Clarinase, available in a form of a tablet is used to tone down the effects of histamine. Therefore, referred to as antihistamine. It also possesses adrenergic activity. Hence, the drug acts as a nasal decongestant too.
CLARINASE TAB 14’S *
Indications:
Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis & the common cold including nasal congestion and sneezing.
Side-effects:
Insomnia and dry mouth.
Contra-Indications:
Patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors therapy, or within 14 days of discontinuing such treatment. Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, or hyperthyroidism.
