Product Description
Zentel (albendazole) is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, which is highly effective against a wide range of intestinal helminths. Zentel is also effective against tissue helminth infections, such as cutaneous larva migrans (see Indications). Zentel therapy has also been used in the high dose, long term treatment of tissue helminth infections including hydatid cysts and cysticercosis. The antihelminthic action of Zentel is thought to be mainly intra-intestinal. Zentel However, at higher Zentel doses, sufficient is absorbed and metabolised to the active sulphoxide metabolite, to have a therapeutic effect against tissue parasites.
Medical Description
Zental 400 Tablet is an anti-worm medicine containing Albendazole as its active ingredient. Zental 400 Tablet is used for treating stomach or intestinal infections caused by various worms. Albendazole deprives the worm of glucose and energy source, thus kills the worm. Children below 2 years of age should not take this medicine. Side effects of this medicine include stomach discomfort or pain, gas and headache. If you experience any other effects after taking this medicine or if it worsens your condition, consult your doctor immediately.
USES :
Zental 400 Tablet is used to treat infections of the stomach and intestine caused by various types of worms.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
If you are allergic to Albendazole or any other components of Zental 400 Tablet.
If you are pregnant.

How Does It Work?
Albendazole in Zental 400 Tablet works by inhibiting or blocking the utilisation of glucose by the worm thereby causing decreased ATP formation and depletion of the energy source in the worm.
